Arctic Oranges (Snack - Day 3)

Thursday, April 15, 2010

These snacks were a colossal fail. This is the recipe. The idea was to hollow out the inside of the orange and mix it with juice. Blend it and then put it back in the rind. Freeze. Enjoy.

This is how it went: Cut cute little zigzag pattern on top of orange. Try desperately to scrape the inside of the orange out. Look at the destroyed rind and the orange mess everywhere and declare that everyone can just have an orange whole.

Still healthy snack that did not come from a package. Mission accomplished.

Cheese Toast- (Snack - Day 2)

Wednesday, April 14, 2010

It's toast with cheese on it.

The End.

Seriously, there's no butter or anything involved. Just dry toast with whatever cheese you want on it.

But, if you want to check out a million and one ways to make it here's a really good website:

Banana Wraps (Snack- Day 1)

Tuesday, April 13, 2010

Every kid likes things wrapped in a tortilla. It's true. Put it in a tortilla, roll it up, and it will be eaten. These snack wraps were a big hit today and oh so simple.

Ingredients:

Bananas, raisins, peanut butter or alternative (I used almond butter) and tortillas

The Method to the Madness:

1. Spread almond butter on tortilla
2. Slice banana in half and place in middle of the tortilla
3. Sprinkle with raisins
4. Roll and cut in half (it works better if you cut at an angle)

The End

This recipe is one I found @ http://parentingteens.about.com/od/recipesforkids/r/kids_recipes204.htm, as you can see I altered it a little and so can you... use your imagination.
